Painters District Council 711 has a state of the art Apprenticeship program. This program instructs new members that have little or no experience in the Painting, Drywall Finishing and Glazing industries. Upon completion of the apprenticeship program, the member will receive their certificate of completion and advance to the journey person level confident they have a strong knowledge of the occupation in which they are trained.

Apprenticeship consists of a three-year program, which includes on the job experience and classroom work. The apprentice will receive an incremental increase in wages as he or she acquires knowledge in the trade and satisfies all job and classroom requirements.

Apprenticeship recruitment is held several times during the year. Notice of recruitment is put in the newspaper and here on our website or you may contact any of the District Council or Training centers to confirm the dates and requirements for application.

Apprentice Opportunity

The Finishing Trades Institute of New Jersey will be accepting applications for the following Trades: Painter/Paper Hanger, Drywall Finisher/Taper and Glazier.  Applications will be taken on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 from 7:00am to 7:00pm at 9 Fadem Rd Springfield,NJ 07081 and at 26 East Fleming Pike Hammonton,NJ 08037.  All applicants must be 18 years of age, must possess a valid driver's license, vehicle registration and a High School Diploma or GED.  For more information please call 973-258-1607 or 732-774-6663 from 7:00am to 5:00pm Monday thru Friday.
