Rules in Favor of Painters District Council 711
Effective May 1, 2006, Painters District Council 711 contracted with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey as the provider of the health plan.

The trustees of the plan feel by changing providers it will allow all eligible participants more doctors and service provides to choose from.

Judge Rules In Favor of Valcourt Employees
An administrative law judge for Region 22 of the National Labor Relations Board ruled in favor of four Valcourt employees. His ruling included reinstatement with back pay and interest. Three of the employees accepted reinstatement while the forth decided to stay with his curren employer.
Total back pay and interest amounted to over $70,000.
District Council 711 is currently in collective bargaining negotiations with the company.
Kenny Atlantic Services Recognizes Painters District Council 711
The company is involved in the maintenance of the facilities.
After several months of hand billing, meetings and mailings the organizers collected a sufficient number of authorization cards signed by the employees to ask for recognition or felt confident that if an election was held the Union would prevail.
This recognition could open the doors for additional Union representation at other refineries that are serviced by Kenny Atlantic in Philadelphia and Texas.
The IUPAT is currently in negotiations with the company to come to a collective bargaining agreement.
There is the potential for District Council 711 to add over one hundred new members by organizing the two refineries.
On December 15, 2006 Kenny Atlantic Services voluntarily recognized the Union as the representative of its employees at the Sunoco and Valero refineries in Westville and Paulsboro, New Jersey.
